Mayor Van Wyk called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Council Members Present: Robbins, Herold, Ernst, Fisher.

A motion was made by Fisher to approve the agenda, second by Robbins. Ayes: All
A motion was made by Fisher to open the Public Hearing for the FY2017 Budget Amendment, second by Robbins. Ayes: All
No public was present to comment on the FY2017 Budget Amendment and no written objections or comments were received.
A motion was made by Fisher to close the Public Hearing, second by Herold. Ayes: All
A motion was made by Fisher to Approve the FY2017 Budget Amendment, second by Robbins. Ayes: All
Approval of May 8, 2017 Council minutes.
A motion was made by Robbins to move approval of the May 8, 2017 Council minutes until the June 12, 2017 Council meeting, second by Ernst. Ayes: All
A motion was made by Robbins to approve Karen Anderson to attend the Clerk School July 2017, second by Fisher. Ayes: all
Discussion of the request by Robert Warrick to be appointed to the Library Board was held. Council delayed action in order to verify the Library Board has a vacancy and the proper procedure to appoint a new Board member.
Jack from Garden & Assoc. presented a preliminary report of the recommendation and cost for the sewer project. He also discussed financing options.
Discussion and possible action on a Ditch mower/vacuum was delayed until the June 12, 2017 Council Meeting.
Discussion and possible action of Fireworks within the City Limit was held. No decision was made at this time. Will re-review at the June 12, 2017 Council Meeting.
A motion was made by Herold to approve to split the cost of the structural engineer for the old Library building between FY2017 and FY2018, second by Robbins. Ayes: All
Parks: Mike will get estimates for the repair of the gazebo, the fence and the play equipment for the insurance company.
Public Safety Report: Jacob Hoch is in the 3rd week of the academy and doing very well. Scott Bramer has indicated an interest in becoming a part-time officer for the City. He is currently a full time officer for the City of Monroe. The Police Department is purchasing Stop Sticks from the City of DeWitt for $100.00. They currently do not have anything to help in pursuit cases.
Mayor’s Report : Discussion on dogs running loose. Will contact City workers to pick up dogs during the week, if not a vicious dog. Will place ads for an Animal Control officer in the Knoxville papers and the Lion’s city paper.
The Anhydrous leaks were discussed and the action to be taken if we receive a call regarding one. The person is to call 911 and report the leak. The Fire Department will respond and then they will contact the Manager of the facility to come and correct the issue.
